What's a Women?

This story is way too funny not to share with everyone. We had all decided to go to the Logan pool to go swimming for the day. I said that I would pick up some subs. My mom and Kaden were waiting in the truck at Subway while I went in to get 6 foot long subs for the large Thatcher crew. This girl walked in after me she looked like she was around 21, long blond hair, high heels, and all dolled up. Let's just say she didn't look like she had just got done doing the laundry, moping the floors, and changing diapers. Kaden obviously noticed her also he asked my mom.

Kaden says " Nama who's that?"
My mom says " she's probably a mommy."
Kaden replies " Her's not a mommy, hers a WOMEN!!!"

I think I've laughed harder at that comment than anything he has ever said. At what point do us mothers just become mommy's and not women to our children, I guess I need to start pulling out the high heels to mop the floor, so my boy understands that I'm a Women.

I love it! I have a new goal now next time I see Kade I want him to think I am a women I totally get it. I look way too much like a mom all the time. I had fun at the pool too, let's go again let me know when you come up or let's meet in the next week or two at the Treehouse. Let's keep in touch.

I was there, you should have heard the tone in his voice. It is amazing what children notice and say. Kaden is such a great kid. Love the little mutt to pieces. Kids do indeed "say the darnedest things." We just have to pay attention and I am so glad you are recording it.

MaRea, that is too funny. *sigh* I'm afraid I haven't been a "woman" for a loooong time.

It's amazing how quickly these little people pick up things isn't it. Too cute! Too smart!

I think Kaden would definitely classify me in the "mommy" category. It would be fun to be "woman" from time to time to though.

Really, really not so funny if your the "mommy", nevertheles, i did enjoy it. Imagining Kadens' face and the tone in his voice is absolutly one of the funniest kid moments ever.I just wish it was on film. I have been wondering....if I may out loud now, "how early do little boys start to connect the dots?" so to speak. This is an early sighting, and comforting i might add. Ryland has a crush on Rachels friend Ellie. When i told Lee he was trying to kiss her Lee said matter of factly "can't blame him, she is pretty" Here we Go?
